Nick at the Emergency Vet

If you have noticed the time this was posted you will note it is around 1:15 AM. That is because we have had to take our dog Nick to the EMERGENCY VET. Apparently we have poisoned him with the flea and tick medication we gave him around 5pm this afternoon!
We noticed around 9:30pm that he started drooling. By 11pm the drool was so bad I could have mopped the floors in it. So off to the vet we go. When we get there they check all of his vital signs and they tell us all are good. A young Vet comes in and looks at him and tells us that there is nothing they can do for him....after we had washed off his flea and tick application it is a waiting game. So he sent us home to watch him and to make sure he did not get any worse. It would just need to run it's course.
So here is a picture of him...smile and all.
Ya know, not every dog gets a $85 Christmas Present!

Gingerbread Elf for Grace

One of Grace's "Family Project's" for her Kindergarten class was to decorate a paper Gingerbread Man. We just finished him up...

Girls School Pictures for 2008-09

Well here they are...school pictures for Emma's 2nd grade year and Grace's Kindergarten year. Why is it that school pictures are like Drivers License pictures...they just never look good??? The kids look as cute as ever but the pictures are too dark. Grace's hair looks the same color as her shirt.:) Did I happen to mention these are re-takes!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year...

To be a "Stalker" you must love Christmas.
I love the decorations, the madness of shopping and the

crazy Christmas schedules that go along with it.

The Christmas songs are just an added bonus!
Even though it always seem to be the best and the worst time of the year, it just is magical.
I also love the fact that it is a special time to refocus on Christ.

I took some pictures of the house all decorated up this year. Justin always does such an amazing job. I hope you enjoy them. Sorry they are a little blurry...I am a terrible picture taker. :)

Merry Christmas!

Deer Season

First of November means its time for a Kentucky visit! The deer stand starts calling Justin's name. :)

Kentucky this time of the year is so beautiful and very cold! We had such a great time. I love spending time with my family. It is great to sit around and talk, poke fun, make jokes and laugh with people you love.

There is more than one person in the picture...the rest are in camo. :)

This trip we flew in. That was so much better than the typical 11 to 12 hour drive. It also gave us some additional time there. On our drive from the airport we came close to hitting a deer. She had amazing luck because I just knew she had been hit.

This is a picture of our enormous bonfire. It was in the low 30's and a little on the windy side. Earlier that day we had a Bar-B-Q....we should have had soup and hot chocolate. :)

A little smoke never hurt no one! :) Honestly...we all smelled like smoke for days. :)

This is a picture of my Aunt Margie who is just one of my fabulous Aunts! I have a lot... 7 total living. The look on Aunt Margie's face is a look of exhaustion. She does all the cooking...for all 25 plus. Yep, you would be exhausted too. I personally don't know how she does it. Everything is always made from scratch. Most of it is home grown. She is better than Paula Dean.

The video attached is a small clipping of us going through the mountains in Tennessee on our way back to the airport. This video will show just how beautiful the area is. You will know just one of the reasons we keep going back.

Grace's song at the end is just a added bonus...:)

Emma's New Dew

Can you believe it?
She has wanted this hair cut for a
long time. Even though I cried like
a baby, it looks great on her!
She is so excited about it. She keeps
touching it. :)

Let them eat cake!

The Young Women just had their "YW in Exellance Program" last night and I was asked to make the cake....Ta-Da!

The theme was "Movie Stars". Each girl got their very own star.
It was super great!

Believe it or not from start to finish it took me about 6 hours. It is a white cake with real buttercream icing with a strawberry filling in between each layer.

Even though it took a while to make I hope the girls enjoyed looking at it and eating it as much as I enjoyed make it!

Next big cake adventure... a wedding cake to feed 100 to 150 people due on Nov. 22, 2008.

Wish me luck!

An update on the Stalker Family

Hello Again! it has been awhile....

Life is going good for the Stalker family. We are all healthy and getting fatter everyday! (The fatter thing...not so good or healthy either!:) ) Work is going well. We have been blessed to say the least! Emma is doing super in school and Grace is like her father...a smarty pants. Grace can not wait until she has finally made it to Kindergarten. She says that her and Emma will play on the same play ground. Emma is excited to go into 2nd grade. Amazing how when you are young you can't wait to grow up. Then something happens when you get in your twenties... you then decide you are "cooler" if you can begin to reverse the aging effect.

The picture with this post was taken before Christmas 2007. it was taken in my (Crystal's) home state of Kentucky. We love going up and spending time with all my family. Justin also gets to hunt and have fun with the guys. The kids love the freedom of the outdoors. They also think camo is cool which just puts a big ol' smile on Justin's face. He most certainly has two "daddy's girls"

Something else that has changed for us lately is our back yard. We are growing a garden. We are still in the seeding stage. The plants are growing which is impressive. I usually kill everything I touch. I am just waiting for my family and the dog to kill over any day! :) I will take a few pictures and add them a little later on.

Justin and I also have pretty new callings in church. I am music leader and Justin is Elders Quorum President. We both love our calls and are learning and growing with them on a daily basis. I will say that I have had more of a desire to play the piano more than ever. I also have had more of a desire to teach my girls to play. Emma is doing good and I think will want to continue. Grace has a desire but still may be a little young. As for Justin and his calling...well... he is still learning it. It has really only been about a month. He does have a love for the Priesthood. his faith in the gospel is very impressive. Sometime it makes me jealous of his knowledge in the gospel.

Well I need to end this post. We are off to start work in the garden. Did I mention we have an indigo snake in the back. He is very friendly!
